Electroless Nickel Plating

Merridale has been Electroless nickel plating since 1996 and we have built up an experienced team of platers.  We offer a medium Phosphorous ENP, which is the most popular type of Electroless Nickel.

Electroless nickel plating provides a high corrosion resistance to any component.  It is especially beneficial when there is any wear or friction on a part as it doesn’t flake or chip like other decorative finishes.

It has the advantage of being able to plate to tight manufacturing tolerances because we can accurately measure the thickness of nickel being plated on to a component.  This is aided by regular analysis of our plating solutions/additions/pH/temperature and the use of our XRF machine which can measure the plating thickness deposited on to a part.

Electroless Nickel provides an even coating on any component, even in to recesses or holes. It is also ideal in areas where friction and wear are issues.

Electroless Nickel can be plated on to the following base metals:

  • Aluminium
  • Steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Brass
  • Diecast

This type of plating is commonly used in:

  • The marine industry
  • The gas industry
  • Oil industry

However, the engineering applications for electroless nickel can be found in virtually every industry.
